Christine Renc-Carter Christine Renc-Carter graduated from the PCCA Visual Arts program at Gibbs High School, St. Petersburg, FL in 1993, and received her BFA in Printmaking from Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, MD in 1997. She has worked in the world of art colleges, retail art galleries and art museums. She gained an extensive background in printmaking and art history, along with experience in fine art conservation after taking up a museum career at Baltimore Museum of Art. Presently Christine is Associate Curator and Registrar at Florida International Museum, St. Petersburg, FL. She still finds time to create new mixed media drawings, monoprints and oil painting. |
Artist's Statement My artwork evokes the subconscious feeling of comfort lying in the depths of memories, and I translate my surroundings and life experiences into deeply personal visions. Over time, my drawing style has refined and become loose and energetic, even abstracted as a result of working in several different media. |
