The Painted Fish Gallery opened in 1995 in downtown Dunedin, Florida, a quaint and historic district of small restaurants, shops, and seaside marinas. The Pinellas Trail, the county’s popular 27-mile hiking and biking trail, is right outside our front door. Trail enthusiasts can rest beneath an ancient Florida Live Oak tree that shades our entryway. Plein air painters have discovered their favorite nooks for painting outdoors in the immediate vicinity, inspired by the proximity of St. Joseph Sound and the Gulf of Mexico only a few blocks away.

Over the years The Painted Fish Gallery has gained a reputation of being the home to these working artists who have provided many connections with the community. In past years the gallery has helped coordinate such popular artist-run events as the annual Cool Art Show, Art Feast, Concorso Rapido and Studio Waltz.

Besides original artworks by owners Bill and Linda Renc, the Painted Fish Gallery has in past years hosted guest artists in many different media. Featured shows have include etchings, paintings, calligraphy and handmade books, stained glass, quilts, photography, and medieval manuscripts. Some of Florida’s best artists have enjoyed sharing their artworks with our visitors.

From her home in upstate New York, Sharon creates exciting color contrasts in fabric. Her quilts, collage cards, collage landscapes, hand dyed silk scarves and quilted handbags are shown year-round at the gallery. She's bringing a selection of new contemporary wall quilts for a special "Valentine's Day Trunk Show". Sharon will demonstrate the art of fabric collage, using a mixture of paper, silk, nylon, cotton and synthetic materials, layering these fibers with a fusible bond and fixing with a hot iron. www.sharonbottlesouva.com

Jeweler Thomas Lott returns to The Painted Fish Gallery the weekend of February 20 - 21, showing his one of a kind gems and original jewelry. He works in 14k and 18k gold, platinum and sterling silver, using rare and unusual gemstones. Tom will be in the gallery from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days to help you select an extraordinary piece of jewelry from his collection. (We recommend coming early and parking in public areas north of Main Street, which will be blocked off for Dunedin Arts & Crafts Festival).
